Materials Methods: TPC, TFC TAC were analyzed using Folin Ciocalteau assay, aluminum chloride assay bromocresol green respectively. 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) ferric reducing power (FRAP) techniques used to analyse AA. Phenolic compounds; Vanillic acid, (+)-catechin, quercetin, rutin, sinapic 2,4-hydroxybenzoic acid ferulic high performance liquid chromatography diode array detector (HPLC - DAD). Results: Barks discolour exhibited levels TFC, AA hot-dry season (summer) as compared S. singueana, oleifera azedarach which showed significantly (p< 0.05) higher hot-wet (rainy). Levels influenced by seasonal variations correlated with Profiles all not similar terms chemical composition concentration seasons. Sinapic singueana while oleifera. Conclusion: phytochemical constituents medicinal plants are subject turn influence optimum harvesting. In-silico Investigation of Antitrypanosomal Phytochemicals from Nigerian Medicinal Plants

BACKGROUND Human African trypanosomiasis (HAT), a parasitic protozoal disease, is caused primarily by two subspecies of Trypanosoma brucei. HAT is a re-emerging disease and currently threatens millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa. Many affected people live in remote areas with limited access to health services and, therefore, rely on traditional herbal medicines for treatment. METHODS A m...

Phytochemica: a platform to explore phytochemicals of medicinal plants

UNLABELLED Plant-derived molecules (PDMs) are known to be a rich source of diverse scaffolds that could serve as the basis for rational drug design. Structured compilation of phytochemicals from traditional medicinal plants can facilitate prospection for novel PDMs and their analogs as therapeutic agents. Atropa belladonna, Catharanthus roseus, Heliotropium indicum, Picrorhiza kurroa and Podoph...

Antimicrobial Studies of Some Selected Medicinal Plants

Antimicrobial activities were detected in the 80% ethanolic extract of Achyranthes aspera, Ficus glomerata, Leucas aspera, Thespesia populnea and Zizyphus jujube against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and salmonella typhi. The treatments resulted in the formation of various inhibitory zones, in contrast to the control where no inhibitory zone was observed.
